Black spokes or white spokes

What is the etiquette/unwritten rule on spoke colours?

Are white spokes on black rims a bit pimpy? Or is it OK 'cos they match your shoes

Are they the equivalent of chav/adidas/burberry?

Is it as bad as owning a triple when you live in Holland?

If you mix colours, what does that say?

White spokes will go grey anyway...

Mostly black spokes, with a couple of white ones thrown in. In fact, why stop at 2 colours? How about silver, grey and red in there too?

I take a similar approach to the rules about team jerseys, wearing mixed brands, bike colour schemes, etc. etc. etc. Make your own rules.

At this time of year, white ones will get filthy and be a b*tch ro keep clean. I'd suggest black for the winter and white for the summer.

yep... go with this - my American Classics are like this - a devilish job trying to find spare spoke though
