Clothing for tall people....

Cycle clothing manufacturers, like all clothing manufacturers, seem oblivious to the fact that there are actually people in this world who are over 6' 1"
I am just short of 6' 6" and have a 36.5" inside leg. I am hoping to find, for the first time, some tights that actually fit me. I have made do with a cheap pair of DHB something or other bib tights for the last couple of years but these have been far from perfect. They don't even reach the tops of my socks in length and without careful personal adjustment, pulling the shoulder straps up can get quite uncomfortable in the Gentleman's trouser area. These bibs are now on their last legs and I need something better fitting.
I don't mind that the leg length usually increases with the larger sizes and I am not your stereotypical racing whippet, but please, can anyone point me in the direction of something that might actually fit me????

I am 6' 6.5" and got same inside leg as you do and use Gore and Santini Bib Tights and they both fit me great. I would avoid Castelli, Altura and Nalini. I haven't tried Shutt's bib tights but their bib shorts are good too.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

I'm also a 36.5" inside-legger and I got a pair of 5XL winter bib tights made by My Team Giordana through my team - they're super long but not stupidly wide, so they fit me perfectly.
Don't know if regular Giordana stuff comes in that size but if it does you're sorted! My cycle racing blog: http://cyclingapprentice.wordpress.com/

Hi Greeny.
Same height as you but have a longer inside leg - Always used Santini Great bib shorts and their bib tights are big/long enough for me. Quality made as well, I always get mine from www.prendas.co.uk they have sold Santini for years + if you phone them they are always helpful and will tell you the size you need. I have just bought 2 pairs of bib shorts and both were size 3XL as well as my Bibtights.....Jackets and jerseys i usually go for 4XL hope this helps.0 -
I am 6'6" and find Assos bib shorts and tights fit really well - the tights are long enough to make wearing the foot straps comfortable. The TIR sizes are wider - like you I am not a whippet. I also have some gore tights.
I recently bought an Assos jacket ij.habu5 and it is great in the current weather. I also have a gore wet weather jacket.
Hope this helps.0 -
I've got some Skins compression waist tights in your size, you can wear them over your bib shorts for riding or alone for running etc. Brand new, yours for £35 posted0

Thanks for the replies, some good recommendations there, and thanks for the offer Guglielmo but I had already ordered some Santini's when I read your last post.1998 Marin Hawk Hill
