Derby to Cambridge - Route Advice

Looking to do this ride sometime this summer but have no clue about the best (scenic) route.

Any ideas from those with local knowledge?!

A good trick I find. Put your start and finish into google and click "walk" always gives you a good route.

I looked at this question and I can get you over the A46 on nice roads but after that I don't know, so didn't answer :(

I wouldn't mind seeing that section of the route - around Rutland should be easier to find some reasonable routes, and I'm more familiar with what roads NOT to use closer to Cambridge

Let me know the starting point (exact starting point) and I'll get you over there then.

(I'm assuming you want quiet roads and not the fastest / shortest route? I can sort both but need to know a preference)

Oh, and what bike, so I can include / exclude bridleways / rougher sections (I have a CX so go anywhere I choose ;) )
