Hay guys I have a 2012 Kona operator and the standard headset is poo seals are very poor and let water in and every few rides it gets rough when steering so I want to replace with a better one, I was thinking hope as I have heard many good things about them what do you think?? Am I right in thinking I need a tapered headset I have measured the ID top & bottom 43.9mm top & 55.9mm bottom do I need to measure the steer tube on the fork??
Cheers guys

In a word Yes. As he steerer may not be tapered."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thats a tapered steerer allright.
You could upgrade to some industrial bearing ones like the FSA Orbit 1.5 ZS for instance. The Hope ones are ofcourse also a great option if they make a zero stack tapered headset (im not quite sure on that).0 -
