RS Reba Team issue - sunk into itself

I was riding yesterday and noticed to my dismay my forks had sunk into themselves. I assumed they had somehow lost air pressure in the positive chamber but when I checked with my shock pump both chambers had pressure in. The crown of the fork was almost touching the fork lower and they would not pull up out of the lowers. The fork is a 2009 Rockshox Reba Team Dual Air with blackbox damping. Has anyone experience of this? Having recently bought a house, spent Christmas in Lapland and just had a huge and unexpected car repair bill, I am really hoping this is not going to prove expensive.

let all the air out and reset and see if that fixes it.
