Hello everyone

Could you please give me some advice regarding a good pair of waterproof trousers for commuting in bad weather.
I got soaked the other day and need to invest in a decent pair of waterproof trousers. I do just under ten miles to work on my journey.

I only have a small budget (ish), but know it's better to buy the right pair. So which trousers are value for money and do the job of keeping you dry?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For short distances pretty much anything waterproof will do. I use Trespass cheapo ones if I'm only going a couple of miles. If you're going the sort of distance where you are going to get sweaty wearing waterproofs, then you are much better off wearing shorts and changing into you trousers when you get there.
  • I wear a pair of waterproof trousers i brought from decathlon for playing golf in. Think they cost me about £20 (maybe more brought them about 4 years ago), these work perfect for me with a pair of padded lycra cycling trousers underneath (again from decathlon - about £10). Also keeps the wind chill off on early morning rides to work when temps are really low.

Not really trousers but if its tanking down wih rain on my commute I put a pair of Endura waterproof leggings - those full length jobs that roadies wear - and stick some waterproof shorts over the top (so as not to look like a roadie)
