Upgrade Brakes - Are Hope Tech Evo V2 worth it over Mono M4?

So I'm doing a little bit of upgrading on bits I've not been 100% with when riding over the summer.
I'm currently running a set of the original Mono M4 (with the original lever design). Nice brakes, always had Hope brakes and generally been pretty happy. I'm thinking of swapping to something with a view to a little more power.
Now part of me wants to get a set of Formula One brakes 2012, but I'm generally looking aorund before I make a solid choice on it. Support from Hope has always been fantastic which is one big part of my choice as I've no idea what Formula support is like.
In terms of general performance, how do the Tech Evo V2 look compaired to the original Mono M4?
Has anyone used both systems who could comment?

The M4 is a xc/trail/all mountain brake. The V2 is more of a downhill brake. The V2s are more powerful, but are also much heavier. For your usage, the latest version of the M4 or X2 may be better. However, the new xt and xtr brakes seem to be getting excellent reviews at the moment and would probably be my choice if I was getting some new brakes for trail/am use.0
