Hi all............

I am considering purchasing the Pinnacle Iroko Two from Evans...... the main reason for this is the spec, it's a steal at £799....the only issue is the lack of reviews (apart from the recent WMB Jan 2012) or should I say personal reviews. The bike will be used to commute to and from work along a wooded trail.

Does anyone out there have or know of anyone with one? Any info would be welcome.

Thanks in advance!

It's pretty good for the money, but are better: take a look at this:

The fork is quite a lot better than the Recon on the Iroko, more adjustable, lighter and better damped. It will make a difference.
  • Bikeradar reviewed it a couple of weeks ago and gave it 3/5.

I've owned a Pinnacle before (Tharpu peak 3.0), and found it very well specced, well designed and well put together.

I'd absolutely go and try one out before you buy it though as the fork sounds like a possible sticking point. With it being coil, unless you're willing to swap out the spring, the quality of ride will be very sensitive to your weight. They found it a bit hard, but I bet a fatty like me would proably have found it a bit soft. You'll only know if you're in that sweet spot by riding it and seeing for yourself.
  • Cheers Supersonic.......thanks for the prompt reply, I will take a look at your ace card!

I'm 6'3" and about 15ish stone so not a light rider........ I think the fork would be ok with my weight, I was however considering asking Evans if they would swap out the current fork for another (may cost a little more) more plush fork.

I have a Pinnacle Evolution 2.0 which was my first "proper" bike. I found it to be very well specced and put together. Went round The Wall and White's Level no problem and was superb on a recent challenge event. I would certainly recommend at least having a look at them.
If at first you don't succeed, spend some more money on kit!
