I get a bit sick of all the sweet energy food, much prefer savoury food. These are nice.

I'm a big fan of Blackfriars Flapjacks, not massively healthy but they're well nice. 49p from Aldi or 79p from Holland and Barrett, about 500 calories per bar and carp loads of different flavours.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Got a recipe for flapjacks...4 ingredients I think...sugar, butter, oats and nuts...I can't stomach all the crap in those energy bars and the flapjacks do me well.
Can't find it on line and I guess the 'Best of British baking book' (The Mrs') is copy write...but its similar to this (this one is minus the nuts)

As an insulin usin' diabetic I need the right balance in everything I eat, these are the bars that Mrs T makes, they taste great and I can cycle for about an hour on half of one of these bars, they contain fast and slow acting carbs. Well worth the effort.

PREPARATION
place all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix. Melt butter together with the honey and add. Mix really well, using your hands to really squidge the mixture together. Press into a baking dish lined with greaseproof paper and press down with the back of a spoon. Bake at 200C for 15-20 minutes. Divide into 18 pieces while still warm but leave in baking tray for 10 minutes. Remove and leave to cool on a cooling rack, although this is very difficult as they're so yummy you'll want to try one straight away!
