I've pretty much exhausted Cannock Chase (not that that will stop me going back time and time again), but in the interests of variety does anyone know anywhere good to ride near Burton on Trent/Uttoxeter area?

Thanks :)

Where abouts in Burton are you? There's some decent enough riding to be had over towards repton/ticknall/melbourne area.

    Check out this article. http://singletrackworld.com/trailguide/ ... -midlands/

In places like Robins wood there's some nice tracks to be found, ridden and potential to clear a few trails as long as you stay away from where the FC is working at the time and accept that eventually they'll get round to destroying whatever it is you've built.

There's also some nice riding to be had up in Ashbourne/Brailsford/Carsington/Duffield/Belper/Wirksworth/Cromford area, grab an OS map and go exploring.

Edit. Basically just south east of the peaks, not too far to drive or ride even, there's actually some hills there too

I appreciate the link - but Burton is the opposite direction to Buxton :(

Would be an awesome ride though!

Try Hopwas woods out by Tamworth, enough for an hour or two's entertainment.
