Fulcrum is not Sram, it's Campagnola. I have RM5 on one bike - very impressed, but Shimano are easier to service and get parts etc.I don't do smileys.

will the mt15's work with my hayes rotors? or will they only work with shimano centre lock rotors?Giant xtc

im running deore 596's at momment with hayes v6 rotors.would i benefit changing these to shimano centre locks?Giant xtc

They will work with 6 bolt adapters.
Centre lock are a bit of a PITA. Nice and easy to fit, but a limited range of rotors so tend to be pricy.
Are the RM10's 6 bolt or centrelock?I don't do smileys.

ps RM centrelock have a different lockring system to Shimano, so 6 bolt adapters don't work.I don't do smileys.

cheaper option would be the fulcrums then.but say i went with the mt15's and bought some shimano deore rt62 rotors, would i benefit from parring these up with my brakes rather than using my current hayes rotors..would there be a noticabale increase in braking power or not?Giant xtc

Size for size.. rotors all brake the same.0

Decent price, and the arrangement of the spokes is always a talking point. Just keep your fingers out of them when the wheel is spinning - they hurt.I don't do smileys.

Tagging on the end of this thread, I need some new cheap wheels too but have centrelock discs so the Fulcrum ones are no good. Currently have M495A hubs with Bontrager rims, that came on a Trek 6000. One of the cones is pitted and apparently can't be replaced (not with the same seals anyway) and I've had to replace a few spokes, so maybe better to get a whole wheel, or set. The choices for sets seem to be:
Shimano MT15 - £85

Shimano M495 with Sun Equaliser rims - £60

Shimano SLX with Xtreme DC 19 rims - £80 but out of stock

MT15 seems to be a bargain, but how easy is it to get replacement bladed spokes?
M495 hubs should be similar to the ones I already have, good for spare parts.
Anything else? Durability is the priority, the bike is used every day for an on and off-road commute.0 -
Or get 6 bolt and new rotors. On One are selling 160mm rotors for £3.I don't do smileys.

I had a set of the MT15's and for the money they were excellent. I never thought about the spoke issue, however from experience and kind of bladed/flighted spoke can be a bit of an arseache if your LBS doesn't carry stock.
Like cooldad says, 6 bolt rotors are cheap as you like so that shouldn't put you off. I'm quite a fan of the non-series shimano hubs; so the Ringle wheelset looks quite the bargain (however I can't make the link work to have a propper look.)What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0
