To be fair the responses of the biker like "I'll do what I want" didnt help, I'd get pissed off too if you're told not to ride on an area (if that was the case) and someone says that to me.

Would like to see the full 10min version though... ;)
  • I find it so funny when people edit the videos to only show what the other person did, and not themselves. He was provoking them, and I know I wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes without being in the same situation as those guys.

i haven't seen the whole thing (and i don't know the guy) but i don't think he was provoking them and when being threatened with being run off the road by that truck thing i reckon i would've reacted more than the biker did!!

but you saw the initial question and approach, didn't seem too out of order to me :?

Legally, yon biker has no leg to stand on.

Which is quite apt considering what happens if you try going mano el mano against a Fowarder

His own You-tube clip makes him look a bit of an @rse.

i think it could've been handled a bit better, but my main point is that of the guys attitude and grabbing him at the end

Yep - I'll give you that one. But if biker-boy hadn't been quite as confrontational himself, then the situation is likely not to have escalated. Act an @rse, and you can bet your bottom dollar (pun intended), someone will try and spank you like an @rse.

But yeah, assault is rarely an acceptable line of arguement.

Its one of those situations too where the FC guys are just there doing a job, and someone pulls up and starts having a rant about their job, when at the end of the day, they probably just want to get on with what they are paid to do and not have to face someone having a whinge about it

going back to the guy who threw the lad off the train in scotland a few weeks back he (possibly?) had more of a right to touch that kid than the FC guy did to touch the guy on the bike (no jokes  )

the guy from the train got charged, will the FC guy? who knows......

a guy asked some forestry commission guys about something they were doing in the forest. there was a bit of back and forth comments between them, nothing major and then the FC guy grabs him, shoves him away and tells him to fark off

Some bloke on his bike with a helmet cam. asking some FC guys a few questions about how they were doing there work and what damage they were doing, then the FC guys telling him where he should and shouldn't be riding, then him replying and some FC moron grabbing him and pushing him about basically.

The video was edited and bits were cut out... didn't show the entire story, not that I'm saying there was much more too it than what the guy showed but still, if you're posting something like that why edit it, just makes you look like you're hiding something.

That is exactly my point, the last part anyways. He cut a 10 minute video down to a minute and a half, and probably cut out any bits that were of him provoking them after being asked to leave or something.

Hi folks. I have not seen the clip but not everyone working in FC woods is an FC employee. We haven't that many to go round! In fact the vast majority of forest workers involved in felling, timber extraction and other "operations" will be contractors. That said there is is hard to see any defence for getting involved physically in a conflict be it a member of staff or contractor.

FC does have a complaints process and if this matter has been brought to the local team's attention it will be investigated.

Just popping an edited clip onto Youtube then removing it isn't going to get to the bottom of anything though.

I know the FC get private companies to do the harvesting but do those private companies drive FC vans?

As the guys were standing right next one when this happened in the clip.

Isn't it the case that some land is privately owned but could be managed by the FC or they are involved in some way, so could find the land owner and/or their own employees or contractors on the site?

Anyway, missed this but just seen FC have issued a statement on it and indeed seems the guy is not an FC employee http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-8QCM57

Presumably they saw the clip before it was pulled, although they don't say what the 'prompt and decisive action' is?
