New AM Wheelset

i'm looking for a decent AM wheelset for my mongoose teocali super. has anyone got any sugestions, i was looking at DT swiss but i don't know whether i should go silly and get something like the XM1550 tricon wheels or get something where the price is a bit more down to earth.

I have the Tricon XM1550 wheels on my Bike and cant praise them enough, yes they are expensive but they are super light, tough and tubeless, no need for rim strips or anything. Never keen on white spokes but they have grown on me.

DT Swiss wheels are a bit weak for their weight. Stans Flows are only really worth it if you want to go tubeless. I have just got a set of these http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=501 with Mavic EX721 rims. They are bombproof & lighter than my old DT Swiss EX500 trail/XC wheels plus they look great with the chrome logos on the rims

My old EX1750s beg to differ with this statement.

They were certainly stronger than the Superstar wheels (flow rims) I had. Better built too. and lighter. Much more expensive though.

I just baught a set of Hope Pro II Hubs with Mavic717 rims.. Super nice set of wheels and they sound great too...
