Attempting first brake bleed soon - do I need a spacer?

Hi all,
I will be carrying out my first brake bike bleed soon.
I can get a kit from ebay which seems ideal and is designed for shimano brakes.
It does not include a 'spacer' though and I see from most youtube vids this seems to be required - is one needed. The seller stated I could use a 2p coin?
Thanks,

Or a spanner, or just about anything that will seperate the pads.I don't do smileys.

the pistons need to be pressed home and held there for bleeding.
what you use is upto you."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Ahh I see, I thought the spacer was needed to set an exact space gap. So really it is just a gap filler rather then a size setter?
How will the pads be correctly set though? Is there an adjust for hydraulic brakes?
Kind regards,0 -
Spacers are just to stop the pistons moving in when the wheel is out and you hit the lever.
Put the pistons right home for a bleed and keep them there while you bleed. They magically set themselves to pad wear, just like car systems.0 -

point 1 read the manual.
2 it is in the manual. (or just use them it sets them)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
