Just stumbled upon : Bikehike.co.uk which can export directly to my Garmin 705. Brilliant. :mrgreen:

    There are numerous sites out there for route creation but many with auto-routing end up taking you along busy routes more suitable for motorised vehicles than for bikes.

    My favourite is http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com which allows you to autoroute using OS data and find routes more suited to bikes or walkers. You can still export to most GPS formats and even print out detailed 'cue cards' with turn by turn instructions.
