Waterproof shorts- which ones?

I tried a pair of waterproof shorts before years ago and found them to be abit of a false claim. On a long ride I still found I had wet undies back at the car... :(

Any decent (strong) waterproof shorts? With a strong back panel as overtime I imagine the seat will wear thus compromising the waterproofing.

Thin = no good. Pricey? I don't need Goretex etc really.
Hang onto the headboard baby!

  • I'm happy with my Endura Event shorts which I've had for over a year now. They have been washed and reproofed couple of times now and are still holding up well. Over the winter months they tend to get used almost daily for my commute and off road rides.

I've also used the Altura Attack shorts which were also good.
Wow great ship man. Looks like a fish, flies like a fish, steers like a cow.

I really rate my Altura Attacks, just about worn out the first pair (and they have a rip in the bum from the crash that broke my tailbone) but they've had a lot of wear and a fair amount of crashes too. So I got another pair. And a set of 3/4s for commuting too. Good value, durable, properly waterproof (take care washing waterproofs though o'course). But most importantly they just feel like regular shorts- wee bit warmer, and a bit noisier but not weird.
