Hi guys,
Been around bikes most of my life and have done trials biking for a couple of years as well, however ive decided now that i want to get a 'proper' mountain bike. im after something that will be mainly used for trail riding and that will be relatively strong though as i would like to be able to do odd jumps drops (smallish) etc. i live in essex so would like to be going over danbury, epping, thetford etc i have a limit of £500 as im only 17 and dont earn that much money... so im thinking for this price range would i be better of looking on ebay or should i look brand new. any bikes i should be looking at that would be suitable for me either brand new or to search for on ebay would be greatly appreciated.
i have been looking at this kona kikapu on ebay, any advice on this? and you reckon it would be a relatively good bike for what i need?

sorry i know i said hardtail in the title that is only for budget reasons however the kona i looked at seems to have relatively good reviews and spec. only thing that puts me off ebay is i want to see the bike first and test it as i cant find any bikes on there local to me.0

Ebay is good if you know exactly what you are getting and condition. You have no warranty and usually no way of trying it. Take a loot at the Decathlon Rockrider 8.1 and Carrera Fury.0

Have just bought a mongoose tyax super 2010 for £260 on ebay havnt been able to ride it yet because of bad back but the spec is good ( i think) one i bought had upgraded tyres and i have since put new parts on it, But for a bike under £500 it seems very good spec much better than most bikes under £500 http://www.rutlandcycling.com/34847/Mon ... n=pid34847
Have a look at websites like pauls cycles or winstanleysCheck out my blog for my views and reviews: http://memylifeandmybike.blogspot.co.uk/0 -
Rockrider 8.1 from decathlon....you will not get a new bike of this spec anywhere for this money..
Buy new and you get the warranty..0
