Looks like a bit of a fiddle to me....0

I was left out of pocket by selling a set of 29er forks last year, worked fine for me, then a month later i get an email saying that they've broke and its all my fault basically, Ebay/Paypal refunded his money and took it directly out of my account (while i was on holiday) and eventually i was sent back a set of forks that are broken but fixable. so i can get them fixed and sell again or (as they are doing now) sit in a cupboard not doing anything.0

Really? OMF, he bought a used article and still had the balls to whine when they had an issue?
Also the fact they can deduct money from you without consent is a major p¡ss off...0 -
Yeah - that's a ducking joke. Can see how they can do it - you list it's used and it's marks ect.
OOO VW - what's wrong with it?0 -
This must be one heck of a problem for people selling pinatas on ebay0

Hence pay by credit card.0

Seals? That's a serviceable part. EBay is a joke, Paypal is its comedy sidekick.A Flock of Birds

i only put the forks on to sell for a few quid, they sold for over a ton and i was well chuffed and promptly spent the dosh!
he got quotes from his LBS who said it would be over £100 to repair  but like you said servicable part. as much as i argued with ebay saying its a 2003 fork, no warranty was implied or given!
what do they care? they win both ways0 -

Exactly, you sell them, they get their fees, they process the refund and get the "faulty" forks sent back to you, you "fix them" sell them again, they get paid again.
Rinse
Repeat

A month is far too long on a used item isn't it??? Surely there has to be a time limit of a a few days after receipt of product. I could quite easily trash a pair of forks within a month. I crash often enough to manage it.0

i think its 10 days, but even that got over written.
it was all gash! I was stomping about for days, it really pissed me off!0
