none linear suspension movement

Just picked up a second hand frame - canyon Torque - and the rear swingarm does not move smoothly through it's range. With the shock out, it stiffens in the mid part before easing up again in the last third. It doesn't feel like bearing resistance... it's smooth as Barry White in the first and last thirds of it's range...

so what is the question?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

oh for gips sake! I keep sending responses on the forums to come back and find they were never posted... I must be hitting the 'full editor' button by mistake.
Yes, as Tom says, have I bought scrap metal? Shouldn't a swingarm be completely free through it's full range without the shock in place? Is it likely that some resistance has been engineered in by cleverly placing the pivots out of true?0 -
well the suspension is not linear to start with.
are you asking why you have a stiff point?
if yes strip down and find out where the issue is and rectify."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I'm attempting a video upload of the way it moves. I'll start to take out one bolt at a time to see which is the one causing the strange movement.0

Movement. This is my best home made movie yet...
Is this strange action designed in by some frames or is it duff??0 -
check the pivot bearings as 1st port of call... as its a used frame, I'd be changing them anyways to be honest!0

They'll be coming out for the respray, I'll test them one by one tonight0

Also check that the bearing seats are not misaligned - does not look like the fork to me.
(Spies in my office are wondering about the VIDEO. I told them it is a video of a bike frame and they are now wondering about ME!)0 -
Canyon have reviewed my rather excellent video and think it's fecked. I did think a swingarm should move freely... Just about to check the pivots as Monkey suggests to check it's not just badly put together.0

hmm..could it be that the bushings have worn in 1 place? not too sure to be honest... hopefully it is just the bushings and not the frame!0
