Those of you from South Wales who have been involved in cycling for a while are likely to have come across Norman. He started out at Abergavenny RC in the late 80s when he son took up racing and was a regular at races both supporting or riding in the late 80s and early 90s and his house was a regular unofficial B&B for young riders staying in the area for racing or training. Norman then went on to set up a club teaching kids to ride and taking them out to gain experience on the road and, most recently, was a regular member of the NEG helping to ensure that we maintain a healthy road racing scene in Wales. Norm passed away on 28 December afetr a long battle with cancer and Welsh cycling has lost one of it's unsung heroes and characters. RIP Norman.
