Cleaning Wheel Rims

Just wondering what you peeps use for cleaning wheel rims after a ride. I find that on a wet ride, upon returning home and giving it a wipe down - the wheel rims have black muck all round them, and im spending a good few minutes using a cloth to clean it... only to find theres an unlimited amount stuck on the rim (and it does my head in).
Would you recommend some sort of solution?
How often should I be cleaning the rims? (i tend to do 8-9 mile a day so my assumption is if i clean them after each ride, it'll be all good for the break pads for the next run)
Any tips on the above would be appreciated.

I use a rag dipped in citrus degreaser and just wipe around the rim.0

I just hose and soap mine when I get around to washing the bike, probably about every 250 miles (as in not very often), my brakes work fine to...0

I've used acetone - it seems to be the only thing that removes the (seemingly!) endless black stuff that wiping doesn't remove.0

Brush with hot soapy water or a scouring pad if they're really grim.0

Hot soapy water and a scrubbing brush. Cleans the rims and the tyre sidewall0

Or you could save yourself £14 and use an old dish rag like I do.0 -
Hot/warm soapy water and a brush, or if I've got plenty I squirt some Muc off on there.2019 Ribble CGR SL

Hot water with a dash of car shampoo and a dish brush. I find using a dish brush is better then a rag or sponge because it gets round the spokes easier.0

If you use car shampoo, make sure it's not one that has wax in it!0

scouring pad and soapy water and then every now and then I do this followed by degreaser0
