RS80's and veloplugs

Just preordered some of these at the excellent price of 299.00 from Planet X. A few people talk about saving extra weight (50ish g) by using veloplugs instead of rim tape. I see they sell yellow and red versions, anyone use these as I'm not sure which versions fit?

Hi dbg
I use the bigger yellow ones on my DA7850 wheels which I think have the same rim.
Hope this helps

I bought a pair of RS80's last year and they came with spoke plugs, don't think you need to buy any.0

50g? Seriously?
The RS80s are nice wheels and very light as it is. If you really need to shave another 50g off and veloplugs are the only answer then things must be right on the button elsewhere (including your physique). I would need to work off a few mince pies first0 -
Cheers I'll wait to see if they come plugged or unplugged! Why is not saving 50g an issue? - for less than a tenner - bit of a no brainer surely0

My point is that 50g won't make a real difference either way (and I don't give a monkey's about the "rotational weight" argument when it comes to that kind of weight). A fillled water bottle weighs 500g so we are talking about a tenth of that, so I figure that when it comes to percentage differences, the weight of the rider will always make a much bigger difference. I weigh ~65kg and know that to get up a hill quicker I need to lose the odd kg and/or increase my power... a carbon stem or veloplugs won't do it...but a combination of more Sufferfest and less stout might0
