Hey, I am sick and tiered of using alcohol and a toothbrush for my chain, and seen some videos and forums of people using a good steam cleaner, whats your thoughts?
I wont use it for any cartridges or anything oil sealed, just the chain and cassette and cranks.
Thanks

Why, just dump them in a can of degreaser if you need. Who uses a toothbrush on their cranks though, just give them a wipe.
And if you don't coat the chain in grease it doesn't get gunked up.I don't do smileys.

Pointless and you can over clean things and never gt then lubed correctly."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Vegetable steamer, and whilst its steaming you need to go on your computer and delete system 320

i used two toothbrushes to clean my chain when i was in whistler and had no chain cleaner..
not as good as removing the chain and dropping it in a tub of dergreaser and shaking though...
or a simple and easy as using a chain bath...
personally i would not bother with steamclaning my bike...www.bearbackbiking.com

Problem with all of this degreasing nonsense is that crud builds up on the outside, which can easily be cleaned off.
Lube needs to be on the inside of the rollers. So people degrease the chain entirely, stick some gunk on the outside, and wonder why it feels like sh1t.I don't do smileys.

Bike chains are clearly too complex to clean or lubricate properly, we should be using rubber bands instead.
Erm, anyway... Chain baths work ok. Damn sight faster than messing about with a toothbrush. You can even use simple detergent in them if you have an aversion to degreaser.0
