hi, just fitted a new front mech. put it in little ring up front, big on back then adjusted it by the 3mm gap rule, no problems. then went to small on back and bid up front, but it seems the mech will will not move out anymore that is allowed and im stuck with it rubbing against the cage. Is this normal? or am i doing something wrong? replaced my bottom bracket a while back is it possible i have not put enough spacers on driveside? running 3 rings up front with a triple slx front mech

  • some rubbing in some combos is unavoidable.. have you replaced with the same mech?

  • Its fine then as long as you can use all gears! (note that using big/big and little little combos are usually advised to be avoided)... as said, you'll always get a bit of rubbing in some gear combos!

Just checking, did you remove the plastic "pro set" before you set up the derailleur as it presets the mech to the large chainring making it almost impossible to have your chain on the small chain ring during installation, if you removed it and set the mech over the small chain ring and just eyed up 3mm over the large chainring then the mech will be too low.
