Seems there has been an influx of piglets and ragleys in general, so here's another...
Going to build up a green piglet to replace my current 09' specialized rockhopper- test rode one last week, goes like shit off a shovel and seemed to be great in general. Picking as much stuff as I can in the 'sales' currently, but right now I've got some 2011 fox F120's (fit damped, kashima coated- £350!!!) an EA50 seatpost & bars, hope seat post qr, thompson stem & charge spoon.
Planned Spec:
Ragley Piglet- Green/ 20"
Fox f120 FIT RLC
Shimano SLX Group set + 2011 SLX Brakes
Hope Evo 2/ Mavic XM719 Wheels (merlin handbuilt)
Hope Stainless BB (Silver)
Hope Headset (Silver)
Gore RideOn Cables
EA50 Bars & Seatpost
Easton Haven 70mm Stem
Charge Spoon Ti
ODI troy lee's
Hope front + rear QR's
Conti 2.2 Mountain King II's
Heres a quick phone photo, I'll stick some better ones up at some point:

Nope I'm not selling the bikes it the frame I'm building the bike from (hopefully in early feb). Also rybak, if you want a 20" piglet they're not hard to find but none of the sites have them in stock at the moment, some time in feb apparently.0
-
I know,that's not trade,but don't know it's bike not constructed. Sorry for fuss(good word?)!
It seems that you've missed my point. 20" is rare in the midst of piglet users, i saw only one ivory on myragley.com,no one green...nevermind. I'm asking becouse make research about bar&stem dimension vs height to avoid method of trial and many error. (earlier and now i'm riding mainly road bike).
Ragley recommend medium-short stem 6-8cm. I'm 190cm so I'm thinking about width bar 700 with >1" rise.
I hope now all it's "clear". I'm waiting for feb and photos.sry for my poor eng :S0 -
Oh fair enough- yes do don't see many 20"ers in green around- I'm about 6 foot and am thinking about 70mm stem (need to measure mine to see how long it actually is) and 760/40 bars (nukeproof warhead- low rise), after going to some 680mm ones and seeing what a difference they made on the fastest/ best descent near me I just want to go wider! I get paid next week & then just need to sell my rockhopper and I can order parts... also just found some bargain xt trail brakes- want!0
-
What I've got so far (new pedals turned up today) and the frame is on order!!! The LBS should have it early February.

(Those are the bars & stem I've got)0 -
Can I ask what length stem you intend to run? I started out with a 60mm but after a bit of experimenting with different lengths have settled on a 50mm which is spot on.0
-
Well I've just measured the one I'm planing to stick on there (Thompson) and it turns out its 90mm, so I'll stick that on there just so can ride it and then I think I'm going to go for a 60mm stem which was what was on my LBS test bike & it felt great.0
-
Yep, I think 60mm is going to be more suitable than 90mm! They're great bikes to ride, you won't be disappointed, but I would warn you that the finish isn't amazing, but at £270 for a frame you probably wouldn't expect it to be. I love mine to bits, but am budgeting for a respray in a year or two!0
-
Yes 60mm will be, shame I'm going to have to swap the x4 though- really nice stem. Yes they do ride really nicely, didn't want to take the test bike back... Hopefully I won't have to re-spray (to soon) it as it should look quality in green! Just want to build it now0
-
So an update... So far I've ordered and got a headset, BB & brakes from the LBS and should have been getting the frame sometime soon. BUT, apparently hotline/ ragley have issues with the 20" green frame I had on back order- so annoying! So I ether get the ivory (& maybe respray it) or wait... Heres a photo of all stuff I've got from the LBS:

Hope Sliver BB + Headset, SLX 2012 brakes and some new pedals for good measure.0 -
I have the frame!! And ragley painted it orange which looks great. Nearly got everything, just got to wait a couple of weeks to get the wheels, groupset and a few other bits.

So looks like I'm going to build it in late may/ early may, however I pretty much have everything short of a group set and wheels. Picked these up for bargain price in the last week:

looks lovely, a very considered and classy build. Hope the mudguard doesn't ruin it, better a muddy arse than a compromised look!0 -
Cheers! Nope, this is just a bender fender for the front- none of that rear mud-guard nonsense!0
-
Are they hooded rear dropouts. Looks so cool!0

Stunning beast!Giant Trance X3 2012
Spec Rockhopper Comp 20110 -
Fantastic looking bike, I really want one of these!!0
-
Well today was the first time I have ridden it and all I can say is amazing! Such a good bike, its miles faster than my specialized and feels way more stable. Also the slacker head angle & wider bars mean it handles like a dream too- I'm well chuffed. Wish I'd put some better tyres on though, the race kings hindered things slightly as they didn't really grip at all.. Me high rollers will be going on until I get some conti mtn king II's.
Here's a post ride phone photo:

Nice build. Loving the final picture! thats how it should always look!DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY0
-
Just fitted some new tubeless Mountain King II's, it will be interesting to see how they ride in comparison to the high rollers. Still need to trim the bars down a bit- 780mm is a touch to wide for me local trails! Also might go 2x10 at some point... Heres a phone pic- I'll stick some decent ones up at the weekend.

Tis a lovely bike fella, I'm looking to build a Piglet myself if the 2013 frames ever show up. Can I ask how tall you are? I'm 6'2 so on paper I guess I should be on a 20" frame (my current bike is,) but I'm wondering if an 18" might be a bit sprightlier.0
-
Well I'm 6ft and have not had any issues with how sprightly it is, its bloody fast and with short stem/ wide bar its also very manoeuvrable I've found. See if you can find a test ride, I test rode the 18" and personally found is a tiny bit cramped. Fantastic bike, the harder you push it the better it gets!0
