I weighed my bike on the scales at work last night and it weighed 14.35lbs. If I was to eventually change the bars and stem to carbon items how much is this likely to come down by?

I'd also like to change the cranks as the drive side crank has some nasty gouges in it from the previous owner not setting the front mech up properly. It's the one part of the bike that looks a bit scruffy, I'll get a photo on to get peoples opinions if it could be cleaned up. :)

I am a bit suspicious of that weight as I had to stand the bike up on the back wheel, so I'm not fully convinced after thinking about it.

Surely it'll be somewhere around there won't it :?

The scale are accurate as they are used in our despatch area and get calibrated, it's just a bit awkward getting a bike on them.

We all strive for a sub-15lbs bike and spend lots of cash to get there. I'm not saying your bike isn't nice, but I doubt very much that it weighs only 14.5lbs.

    Maybe time to re-weigh. :)

Not too much of an upgrade, but seeing as it's getting wetter every week I've just bought some Crud Roadracer Mk2's

I wasn't really too keen on putting mudguards on my bike, having said that it'll be better for the bikes components if they are as good as they sound. Plus it means I can still ride my bike till they start putting salt on the roads :x

I don't think they look too bad really

Thought I'd share a couple of pics of the latest additions (poor quality photos)

I've changed the stem as the original was too long at 130mm for a PRO Vibe, also managed to get some PRO Vibe carbon bars cheap :D

Finished off with Lizard Skins bar tape. I wasn't to sure about the feel at first but the more I use it the more I like it, also new this summer is the Edge 200 and out front mount to keep it tidy :)

I'd just like to get a PRO top cap to replace the original one23 item to finish it off.
