  • Old or new Whitestar ?
Not conversant with that particular computer, but logical checks first.
Speed indicator flashing ? Have you tried a different battery ?, fitting one usually means the computer loses its data, so you'd need to input tyre size etc again.
If its an older computer, remove from its cradle and check the contacts on both. Are they clean / not corroded.
Look at where the cable from the sensor enters the cradle (usually underneath). Check the wiring, ive had one wire corrode/break there, luckily enough i managed to solder it.
Make sure the magnet is correctly aligned and spaced in relation to the sensor.
  • Its the Sigma BC 1609 http://www.sigmasport.de/en/produkte/bikecomputer/topline_2009_wired/bc1609/?flash=1 the wireless version. I have changed the battery in both the computer and the speed transmitter. I rode the bike this morning and it only recorded 3 miles of the 5.4 miles covered. This is starting to bug me and to know it was £44 for it and its not a year yet just gets me angry. Really appreciate any help on this.

  • Still not getting anywhere with the computer. It started working with the battery change to both the device and transmitter. Then stop in the middle of a ride. No its not even seeing the transmitter. I have played with the distance of the transmitter from the magnet on the spoke but still nothing. What I got now is an over priced clock. Can anyone help please?

  • I would have thought that this bike computer was a popular model. I just need some help to get it working again. Its on-off at the moment. It will pick up the transmitter for a mile or more than drop it. Any help is highly apreciated!

Is the display unit near a flashing front light? these can interfere with the signal...
