Can currently get my hands on a Triple Shimano Chainset for £100. I wasn't planning on upgrading my cranks until the spring, but this price seems excellent.
Anyone got any opinions on the SLX Chainset?

I've got SLX cranks on both my bikes, very impressed with them, for the price they're excellent.0

I'd consider the Deore too - it is 80g heavier, but the rings tend to last longer, and for 44 quid is a bargain:

All SLX kit that I have used is excellent for general trail use. £100 sounds is a good price considering how much kit prices have been increasing in the last year or two.Be One Carbon Raw

Aye, they're great. But I agree with the comments about deore rings, they last forever (and they shift well forever too, unlike most flashier rings that quickly lose their edge).Uncompromising extremist0

Just bought an SLX crankset for the Canyon.
They're stiff, they're light and they're easy fit/remove.
Somehow managed to get some for £60 from CRC using a load of old vouchers!0 -

even with the £5 postage its still £5 cheaper, plus if you join them on facebook you get another £10 off
or the 10 speed works out even cheaper!

Thanks for the replies. I've just seen the RaceFace Deus XC Chainset which is only slightly more than the SLX. How does this compare to the SLX? Worth spending the extra 20 quid?0
