Hello, just looking at buying some new tyres however i'm not sure which compound to go for.
I've got a choice of either MAxxPro 60a or Super Tacky 42a.
I'm looking at buying Maxxis Minion DH Front tyre in 42a and Maxxis High Roller in 60a.
Is this the best combination for general trail/xc?

For XC I wouldn't bother with supertacky, 42A is grippier but much slower rolling and will wear quicker, much more suitable for purely downhill duties.
I'd go 60A each end. When it comes to combos I'd say that the Minion Front/Highroller Rear isn't a bad choice if that's what your wanting.0 -
i'm running minions front and rear super tacky 42a ones.. they do drag but offer plenty of grip.. they are more geared up for gravity duties..
i will go the 60a next time i purchase tyres.. to try them o ut..
i would say it depends were you and what you ride, super tacky would be better for wet rooty and rocky trails..www.bearbackbiking.com

Super tacky up front to grip where rolling resistanc isn't such an issue, 60 a on the rear where it wears faster jobs good one best both worlds.0

This is the set up I was thinking off. My local routes got lots of off camber wet roots and rocks. Will give this a go!0
