Tricross Sport 2011 replacement forks good or bad?

i'm thinking about buying a 2011 Tricross Sport in the sales but these were subject to the fork recall.
Has anybody purchased a tricross with the replacement forks ? Are they ok or do they look wrong on the bike- i've heard that replacements are black gloss ? is this correct ? Does anybody have any photos with the replacement forks ?
Tricross mainly for commuting but the odd off road explore - no racing
