100 to 120mm Forks

I'm looking to upgrade the forks that came on a Cannondale Trail SL 5. Currently have RST Omega 100mm forks fitted.

I ride XC and rough singletrack, and I'm thinking 120mm fork would be better suited to my needs. Could these be fitted to the frame without affecting the balance/stability of the bike, or should I stick with 100mm forks? It's an XL frame, so would this be a factor involved when deciding whether to increase the fork size?

Cheers

A 120mm for will be fine....the frame size doesn't matter as no matter what size the geometry and head angles are usually identicle..

A Recon/Reba would be a good choice or a Tora Air

  • I like the look of the Rebas. Might have to get a pair once I've saved up for a few weeks.
