hi, just got some new dual air rockshox forks.i pumped up the positive chamber to the correct psi and also the negative but with the negative just one stroke of the pump the psi raises in massive incriments. so in three pumps it was where i wanted it, is this right? or should it be more like the positive where ya have to put the strokes in to get it at the pressure you want it.

as long as you make sure the shock pump connector is screwed down nice and tight (hand tight) on the negative valve then yes its ok.

but mine doesnt pump up in massive increments, mine is small increases per pump.

  • IIRC, I had the same query with my Reba RLs. The answer I found that explained this is that the negative chamber is quite a bit smaller than the positive chamber. Thus, it takes fewer strokes of the pump to acheive equal pressure in the negative chamber.

    Hope that helps.

True, the negative chamber has a smaller volume, and, thus, requires fewer strokes of the pump to reach the desired pressure. :)
