It has been a few weeks since i picked my new bike up,and have managed to clock up a few hundred miles.
A mixture of flat and hilly rides.
First impressions are excellent, i am really happy with it needs the position tweeking a bit i will probably drop the front down another spacer then cut the steerer.
It climbs so well bear in mind i have been riding a steel Tommasini they weighed double.
The wheels seem to just keep on spinning reletivealy easy once they are up to speed, however a bit dodgy in the wind, although i will get used to this.
All in all a great bike for the price and i am sure it will hold its own against bikes twice the price.

I will be fitting,
New Force brake calipers as it comes with Barelli calipers,

New Carbon Time pedals the 540`s were onlyfitted for the bike fit.
New 3t Carbon rotundo bars i prefer the shape of the classic bend.
Saddle is staying for the time being.

That's gorgeous, though I would say that as I've got the exact same bike on order....can't wait"Cycling isn't a game, it's a sport. Tough, hard and unpitying, and it requires great sacrifices.

Humble apologies, must've had the wrong glasses on that day!
I'd agree about changing the red hoods though.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

This is my bike of choice for next year. Stunning looking bike, just need to make sure I'll get the use out of it so will be testing myself over the summer(?)
What is wrong with the calipers by the way? Have read a few things concerning them.0 -

There is nothing wrong with the Barelli calipers, i just dont like mix and match, and the Sram brakes look better.
Although they do work better, the Barrelli brakes it came with are more than adequate.

A lovely looking bike. For me it was a choice between the Moda and the Kuota Kharma. I went for the Kuota in the end but clearly the Stretto is a very nice bike as well. Very light by your account as well0

Aaahhh! My LBS has a huge poster of one of these on the wall. I can't stop dreaming about it!!!

Looks great with the deep carbon wheels (like mine!! )
The one slight dissapointment i have with my Stretto is the front fork. It is an aluminium steerer, crown and dropouts and only the legs are carbon. The fork weighs a ton (relatively - at nearly 650g) and is a little on the harsh side. I'm looking to change mine for some 3T Funda Team forks in the near future (half the weight).
Cracking bike regardless - and for the money, there had to be a saving made somewhere. Moda made the right move fitting nice wheels as standard (AC Aero 420) and even better giving the upgrade option.

really nice looking bike, been lusting after one for quite awhile now. however the only thing that has put me off a touch is the forks i prefere a sraight fork, so like you i would change. im interested to see what they have at the cycle show as they have added a few sneaky pics on their facebook page, hopefully a 2013 stretto with straight forks with carbon steerer! enjoy your riding.0
-
I am also lusting after these babies!
Has anyone heard what the stock / availablity is like?
Any deals on the 2012 models or release dates of 2013 bikes?
Sorry if that's a bit off topic.
Super sexy bike btw :-)0 -
A few updated pics,
Pro 3 tyres and K-Edge garmin Mount, and before anyone says, the steerer is going to be cut down. After 2000 odd miles i think its comfortable.

Looks very nice, but I'd need to remove a few discs from my spine to be able to get down on those bars0
-
Amazing looking bike, love everything about it!0
-
Great looking bike but i couldn't cope with that drop to the bars. Do you race?
I'm not convinced about putting a full carbon straight fork on, frame and forks tend to be designed together for a reason, not just aesthetics.0 -
I don't know why nobody could 'cope' with that saddle to bar drop - it's not that much! Everyone seems to have a really bad back or something; it's very rare I see another bike with bars lower than the saddle!
Anyway - it's looking really good now (not that it wasn't before)!

The drop is not that bad at all, I don't understand what you mean about the forks, they are the same fork it was designed for.Building:
