Hi guys
Merry Christmas one and all!
I'm just about to order my new bike as a Christmas treat and am pretty set on the above bike. I was just wondering if there's anything else I should consider around the £2k mark before I commit. The spec for the money is fantastic and I'd be surprised if anything could beat it but thought I'd check first.
Cheers in advance.

Nope, that bike kicks major arse IMO, you will not find anything close to it for that money unless you buy a heavily discounted 2010 or 2011 model that no one wants.
get the Canyon
........I am in no way bias btw0 -
dont get to hung up on spec, getting a bike that feels right is more important.0

Second that, for value for money and it rides as good as any other bike out there its tough to beat, you can pay £1000 more for another bike and worse spec kit.0

I think this comment and all those who subscribe to this point of view are so far from being right it's not funny.
Buy something that is good value for money, buy a good spec and buy something you like the look of, when you ride it a couple of times a week you will "feel" the bike.
The reality is less than a few % of people really "ride" the bikes they buy and those that do will probably prefer the one that is most similar to the one they currently ride (which may not be a good thing anyway)......it just one of those horse shit comments that gets regurgitated (if you do not review bikes for a mag then try before you buy is a luxury you will probably NEVER have)0 -

Demo days , bike hire and most of all riding friends bikes , some you will love and some you will hate , if you can try before you buy when spending that sort of money is only a good thing.0 -
Thread hijack!
I'm teetering on ordering an 8.0x... Just wondered if you went for this bike in the end?
I was curious if it was running tubeless, I'm sure when it was originally specced a few months ago it was on Fat Alberts etc but now the spec and photo show its on Schwalbe Hans Dampf Trailstar / Pacestar 2.35 EVO and as far as i can find out they are a tubeless tyre set. Or perhaps tubeless 'ready'.... anyone have any info on that?
Also, the X in the name, is that just relating to the fact its running the SRAM XO chainset?
More importantly.... Raw or Mamba!0 -
The Tyres are Tubeless Ready but the rims are not tubeless unless you buy the conversion kit.
And yes X means its running some XO kit.
Most people seem to like the Mamba colour and will probably last longer and look cleaner.0 -
There are other manufacturers who can match Canyon for value. YT Industries & Rose are just as good value & you can get a test ride with Rose.
I have tried a Nerve AM, feels flexy at the back end compared to my Giant Reign & just not that great to ride.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Thanks for the info Welsh
Ill have a mooch through those other brands too and see whats what.0
