Please recommend an 8 speed shifter

Hey everyone,
I'm planning to buy the Deore M595 hydraulic brake system for my MTB which already comes with levers.
My bike has currently got a mechanic disc brake system and the shifters are sadly built into the brake handles so I will be needing to buy new gear shifters.
I'm having trouble finding decent 8 speed shifters, could someone recommend me some?
I would be looking for something between £30 and £60.

Tough one this.
I'd look for an old 8 spd XT, xtr second hand.
Or perhaps bite the bullet and go 9/10 speed.
Still if you were happy with your old shifter a old olivio one would be fine.

STX RC second hand for a few quids.
XT for a few more.I don't do smileys.

Ah, im not sure if im reading this the right way. Is 8 speed older or less popular?
And would going 9 speed make things easier for me in the long run in case i want to change more things like my whole chainset?
Its on an 2010 Rockrider 6.3 so I assumed most parts on this were pretty much generic and easily replaced0 -
If you're planning on the new brakes. You'd be better of getting a whole new group. like this:

8 speed is old hat now, lots of bikes towards the budget end still have it but it means that top end parts (like XT) are no longer being made.
If you go 9 speed you'll need chain, cassette and shifter as a minimum.

Stick with decent 8 speed. Works well, parts are cheap.I don't do smileys.
