Or has this year just flown over.

You've probably only looked up from your laptop about five times in twelve months. Time flies when you're having fun etc etc etc.

Actually, you never used to be quite such a prolific poster but this year you appear to have gone mental, particularly in the last few months. What's changed?

There were a few bits that really dragged for me: recovering from busted collar bone; public inquiry work - but on the whole it's been a good one. Looking forward to a long, slow descent into middle-age now ;)

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

I really enjoyed the Public Inquiry I was involved in a few years ago. Hard work, but very rewarding... especially being on the "winning team".

Enjoyable - but not when you get presented with the costs for assembling your team of consultants, QCs and instructing solicitors. I'm going to have wait until about September 2012 to find out if I 'won' - if not it's going to a tough one explaining to the Board that "Hey ho! You pay's your money - you takes your chance".

You'll be pretty confident of winning though, right? Otherwise you wouldn't have gone to PI in the first place, right?

That's the problem with this Inquiry - the Inspector might come to the right decision but he has to report to the Secretary of State, and since he's only interested in making vote-winning decisions it all becomes a bit tricky then. Still, always fun to see the QC's in action - I love the way they can be so erudite and insulting all at the same time :D
