New bike spec advice wanted

Hi am going to get a ribble alloy sportive on the bike to work scheme have listed the spec below would welcome opinions
if its about right im using it for commutes to work and to get fitter as want to do some sportive rides

    One thing i would say, you've specced a standard chainset. Are you living in a flat area, or hilly? If the latter, then maybe a 34/51 (compact) would be better than a 39/52 (standard)

    Also gone for the medium rear mech rather than the short?

  • Hi thanks i live in the fens so quite flat the reason i asked for help is that ive never had a road bike allways mtb so thanks as for rear mech would the short be better as it has a max of 28 and the medium 32

    It's generally best to have the shortest mech your other drivechain components allow, so in your case I'd go short. It'll look neater and in theory the shifting should be marginally crisper.
