Is it worth reusing hubs from stock wheels?

After several years my rims are wearing out on the stock wheels that came with the bike (alex 500). My LBS says that they can build new wheels for me & reuse the hubs if I want to save buying new ones.

Do you think stocks hubs are worth keeping or should I bin them? Budget-wise binning them means no local rebuild and would instead mean ordering off the shelf wheels online.

PS the hubs seem fine despite no maintenance.

Strip and check the hubs, also price up built wheels versus the LBS rebuild, you may well find all new is cheaper!
