If shingles are anything like piles, then just get a wire brush and some paraffin and give ‘em a good scrub: that’ll sort them out no worries.

Also known as Herpes............. dirty, dirty boy !!!!

(OK, so it's Herpes Zoster, a somewhat different form of Herpes)

Take it easy on the bike.

It occurs when your immune system is weak, so don't overdo it.

I've had it a couple of times.

Been there, done that. First year away at university, so could have been stress-related. Apart from painkillers there's bugger all you can do about it, and it can be very painful; you have my sympathy.

Don't overdo the cycling, especially if it turns cold again.
  • Have you got good or bad shingles though?

yep, it's not naughty herpes, shingles is essentially "chickenpox - the sequel"

I had it earlier this year and my lads caught chicken pox from me.
I carried on cycling but took it a little easier, the aches and pains stayed for a few months though but codiene helped with that.
  • If you want it to get better more quickly, you should take it nice and easy for a while and give your immune system a chance to get on top of it.

It's caused by the Chicken Pox or Varicella Zoster virus and as an adult, it can cause you some long lasting grief if you don't let your body sort it out
