Hayes Stroker Ryde Pads... No spring?

Hi all,
I've killed the pads in my Hayes Stroker Ryde brakes.

I picked up a couple of sets yesterday to throw in and they are slightly different.

The old pads have a spring that sits between them to help the pistons return.

The new pads I have dont allow me to fit this spring - the friction material is slightly wider, taking up nearly all of the backing plate.

The old pads have the following codes on:
95H9355 - Front
95H9311 - Rear

The new ones have this on both sets:
HBD8024

Are these the right pads? Will there be any problem running them?

Cheers,
Craig!

The Ryde uses different pads to the rest of the Stroker range, as covered in the manual, it sounds like you have the wrong ones.

The Ryde has different pads inner and outer.

  • They are marked up as an inner and outer, fit the caliper fine, it's just the spring won't fit the pad. I'll have to pop back to the shop tomorrow and check it with them. Maybe I have pads for a newer/older model?

  • The old model Rydes had a magnet in the centre of the piston to hold the pads in place, so they had no spring. The newer Rydes(2010 and onwards I believe) don't have a magnet in the piston, so the newer pads come with a spring.
