Long 27.2mm dropping seatpost

I'm running a small Orange5 frame (27.2mm seatpost) with a Pure i850 dropper post. I'm between sizes of frame and went for a small for the extra chuckability. This means that I've got a lot of the seatpost exposed and it's still slightly too short for long distance riding.
Is there a 27.2mm dropper seatpost on the market with a min insert to seat clamp length of more than 27cm (closer to 30cm would be good)?
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a light engineering company in Buckinghamshire who could machine a new static tube to extend the overall length?

    Buy a gravity dropper, available in 400 and 425mm length's I think.

I think the new KS seatpost is 425mm aswell, but I dont know if it comes in a 27.2mm size.

Or buy a frame that fits you.
  • Didn't know gravity dropper were long... thanks.

and the frame fits me perfectly for what I do with it. It was the short seatpost that was the problem.

I run a gravity dropper seatpost with an Orange 5 and it works brilliantly :D

They go up to a 425mm post (27.2 diameter).

  • Miss Notax - how do you handle the cable routing for the remote? Cable tie to gear cable?
