It seems that height is the best way to choose these, but for my height I am WAY under the other sizes.

Im 6ft on the dot, but 38ish chest and 30-32 waist. Any ideas if M or L would be best?

I am looking at the superroubaix for the epicly chilly days.
The padless are 45% off so are a steal at 45 quid, although I'm not sure if shorts under longs will be uncomfy? if not, the padded are 20% off.

Any ideas, or can suggest better at these bargain prices?

I have the roubaix ones and not the super roubaix. They are warm enough for me down to at least -5 and probably more. I'm close to 5ft 9 and use the mediums. I would think they would be to small for you.

I'm 5ft.11", 40" chest, 32" inseam and 32" waist. I have two pair of DHB roubaix's, one pair of 3/4 tights and a pair of Earnley bib shorts. All in a size 'M', the fit is perfect for me. I've also got some 3/4 Roubaix's inbound for Xmas :D

I don't see why a 'M' wouldn't fit you. There's probably enough 'give' in them to accommodate someone a little taller, I'd say if you are a 32" inseam, or less then you'll be fine.

FWIW - I think these tights are a really good. They do exactly what they are supposed to!

    Hope this helps

    awesome cheers guys.

What about padded vs unpadded. I know there is lots of debate about this, but lets just make it a quick one - biblongs with padded shorts, or padded longs

(fingers crossed i get better than a 50:50 split of answers!)

    Personal preference I think.

    I personally prefer padded, because:

    1. My behind needs it.
    2. I don't have to worry about putting other padded shorts, bibs, etc on underneath.

Sorry, sounds like a kop out but I think you need to go with what you need and what you want.

I also agree with bobgfish, the 'standard' Roubaix tights are warm enough for temperatures down to zero and slightly below.

yep! I definitely need the padded. Just wondered what it felt like to wear shorts under longs?

I've had to do it in the past (until I found the 'right' saddle). It's not nice TBH, particularly when the Roubaix tights are warm enough on their own. Plus toilet stops are a bit of a faff. The one major dislike I have about riding in Winter is getting ready for a ride, with extra layers, skull cap, overboots and gloves it seems like such a mission to get out the door.

Again, all down to personal preference but IME, the padded Roubaix's are more than adequate for Winter riding. Quick, or you won't get them for Xmas !!! :D

Padded or unpadded - depends on personal preference but also on the weather. Wearing padded shorts or bibshorts under biblongs gives extra warmth around the sensitive bits. Also useful if you already have several pairs of shorts. On the other hand it can feel a bit too warm and bulky. If I was only buying one pair of biblongs I would go for padded. If you can afford windproof they are definately more comfy than roubaix imo.
  • How many pairs of shorts do you have?
How many pairs of tights do you have?

I wear shorts under unpadded tights so I get more use from the tights before they need washing.
I have a few pairs of shorts though.

Man up and go without pads you jessie... (tried to do a smilie here but they dont work for some reason)

Seriously though - since I sorted out the right saddle, I havent worn any of my various padded items and happily cycle 50-60 miles a day for several days when on tour with no need whatsoever to have pads.

If I wanted them then I would wear padded underwear as this gives more choice and allows the biblongs to be worn several times before washing.

I actually have some really nice padded winter tights but dont want to wear them right now because of the pad so bought some of these dhb unpadded biblongs a few days ago when browsing and finding the SuperRoubaix at such a great price and unpadded which is what I have been searching for. They might be too warm for me in which case I may return them for the normal roubaix but I want something with some water repellancy which the lesser ones dont seem to have. Plus the normal Roubaix is at normal price so you can get them any time - the Super Roubaix are at a super price!!!

I ordered Large and Extra Large for my 36" waist and 34" leg - not sure which will be the right one, but wiggle are very good with returns.

But now the normal ones are down to £25 - ordered some of those too - will just send back the ones I dont want...

Never had bibs before, dont know if I really want them, but at these prices worth a punt.

ah - not the Roubaix but these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-pace-unpadded-bib-tight/

Clicked order so quickly that I didnt read it properly... Still a good price, so interested to see what they are like.

I will be doing a return anyway because I ordered 2 sizes of the super Roubaix ones, so wont cost me any more to send back an extra item or two.
