can a steerer tube b lengthened?

    whether it's a good idea is a different matter.

    If you're using this to extend the tube to move the stem higher, you'd perhaps be better looking at your bars and stem first.

    To make fork fit your frame, no chance on an mtb IMO.

    If this is a serious question. ha ha. The other options are new upper assy on the fork (cutting steerer to future proof it so to speak) if you've not got the correct fork to fit a new frame or a new fork, which ever works out best. Or scrub the lot.
