Hi
I need to remove the gear drop, in order to note the serial number (can onle see 4 digits) and order a spare drop. Have tried removing the nut on the stay (outside), but don´t seem to be able to budge the drop - any one got any advice as to how I should remove the Gear Drop safely?

Do you mean the mech hanger?
Sounds like you might?
Nut on the stay is not structural to it - it's properly held with the axel on QR, so remove the wheel and undo bolt and it'll come off?0 -
Yes the mech hanger. Tried removing the nut, but the hanger still seems to be fixed. perhaps I need to give it a light tap.0

Are you sure the nut doesn't hold it on?
IIRC once you remove the ABP nut (on my Top Fuel at least) - you can pull the mech hanger off, towards the non-drive side dropout.0 -
Thanks for the help.- Got it off. Part Number 294666 - where can I bu one online? Anyone know that??0

Why not ask the correct question in the first place?
That'll be a trek dealer quoting Trek EX8 and year, and handing over about 20 notes. Or the interweb...0
