New Tiagra 30T cassette with Ultegra?

Just read about the new 10 speed Tiagra and the option of a 11-30 cassette. I'm running Ultegra 6700 at the mo. and this sounds like a great option for the Marmotte! Are there likely to be compatibility problems ie. will the Ultegra rear mech cope with the spread of gears?

    Perhaps.

    It depends on how long the gear hanger on your frame is - they do vary. The official limit is 27 or 28T, but that's assuming a short hanger
    If yours is a shortish hanger, you'll have to get an MTB rear mech.
    If it's a longish one, you should just about be able to make it work by fiddling with the B-screw and chain length.

    A case of suck it and see, I'm afraid. Don't wait until the last possible moment to try if it works.
