Any help with my landline..?

Since about 3 oclock today our landline phones haven't been working - we're with talktalk and they have checked the lines and say it's fine, so it's a problem inside the house, offered to send an engineer round for 120 quid :roll:

If you dial a number, it goes.. 'buzz, dial tone, buzz' (no rings, call doesn't go through). We can recieve calls but it only rings about 3 times and you can't hear the person.

'turn it off and on' doesn't work.. :( :P And done all the usual checks..

Any help?!

    Possibly a faulty broadband filter. Remove any filters and plug the phone directly into the wall socket. If that works, then you need a new filter. If it doesn't work you'll have to get an engineer out I'm afraid.
