I'm looking for some Autumn/winter gloves, I have a big thick pair for really cold/wet days but wanted something thinner for cooler/dryer days. Anyone got a pair of the strikes or any recommendations?

I have them on my chrimbo list so am hoping they are OK. :)
  • Bought some 2 weeks ago. To be honest they seem a bit hit and miss. Last weeks ride was a cold one and my hands weren't toasty warm. I could feel the cold creeping in through the finger tips. Miles better that my royal summer gloves obviously and it wasn't a ride ruiner! Also noticed some dampness coming through the palm side probably from lifting mucky wet bikes over stiles and gates. Not for arctic conditions! Something else I noticed was the gel pad on the palm just under the fingers got in the way of a full grip on the bars.

On a positive note they are really comfy and slimmer than say a pair of sealskinz but I guess that's where the warmth comes from on those.

    Average marks from me!

i have a pair, they're great for around this time of year, but when it gets really cold they don't keep my hands warm. i've needed to wear a pair of latex gloves underneath to keep my hands warm enough.

my ones are 2 years old though so they might have changed them since i bought them?

I have a pair as well, I agree with specialeyes the very tips of my fingers sometimes feel the chill but no where near enough to start hurting or stop a ride, the rest of my hands have been nice and warm. I was wearing them this morning in the sleet and no problems with water getting through. If you find your hands are still cold just slap a thin pair of running gloves on underneath. I would say go for it.

Thanks for the replys guys, I'll give them a go. Like I say I'v got a real thick pair for the worst days so these should be good for the other days .
  • I`ve had a pair for about 3 years now and they`ve been warm enough for me on sub zero rides.
Having said that my hands tend to stay warm. Its my feet I have problems with.....

My Strikes(At least I think they're Strikes(2007))failed after one ride  The waterproof inner glove twisted in two of the fingers and I couldn't get them on  So I cut the inner out and now wear them over summer gloves on dry winter days
  • I wear a pair of sealskinz merino liners under mine when it gets really cold. Toasty.
