HI,

I live in a small village smack bang between derby and Nottingham and i really want to take up Downhill/offroad/jumping up as a new sport, but i don't know where to begin!?

The only places near me that i can think of to ride is Alvaston bike track (BMX Park..) and Hemlock Stone near Bramcote.. I just wondered if anyone knows any where local to me (im in the DE72 area) that i could go for a good ride that is sort of novice/intermediate, preferably off road/downhill. I have Just purchased quite a nice bike so all i need now is somewhere to ride it!

Thanks in advance!

Phil

  • Not much in the way of DH in the area although Crich chase (Ambergate) has some short sections & there used to be some decent bomb holes & jumps off the old canal behind Hemlock up towards Ilkeston. Best have a word with the guys in Leisure Lakes.

Have a look on my website (see link in my sig below). Routes are categorised by riding style so you can just look at DH / jumps etc
