Morning bumders

Just toying with the idea of a cruddy xmas/new year ride, so at some point between xmas and new year maybe, or in the new year even?

Location wise, somewhere fairly easy for most people to get to. Cannock springs to mind as it's so central but obviously there are better places to go...

So if you're interested get some dates you're free in and where you think we should go.

Sorry if I'm very vague about when it should be but I'll be doing sod all for 3 weeks other than riding bikes anyway

    29th/30th December?
im free on these dates and i was planning a day at afan on the 30th but this is obviously now open to a whole host of possibilities!

well up for riding somewhere new (havent been to cannock yet) but i am up for driving to pretty much anywhere within about 2.5 hrs if its going to be a good day of riding!
  • Cannock is fairly central? Really?

Maybe if you live in England. Not really good from Leeds though as there's no direct route, you have to go the long way round.

Yep, that'd be the nearest decent trail centre I reckon (Guisborough isn't far but I don't rate it).

BS! there are motorways nowadays you know! they take you pretty direct. Well the M1 route does anyway.
  • Yawn. I'll drive past the Peaks to get to Cannock.... no thanks.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the M1 takes me to London ;)

If it was...I still wouldn't drive all the way from Sheffield to Cannock  or Dulby :?
If it's trail centres then why not Wales...at least they're interesting :D

Been there and done it. I visited with CWNT as we were passing, to be honest, don't think I'd drive there just to ride it.
As Ibbo said, Wales would make much more sense. I'd rather use my free petrol to go there I think.

    O'hai :)

I really enjoyed Cannock, possibly my favourite trail centre experience so far. Nothing overly challenging, just miles and miles of fun. I think it was spoiled a little when we were there though because it was eleventy billion degrees out.

Not that I give a shlt where you go, 'cos it's not like I'll be coming for a while. Sod you all, I hope you all get bad Mark Fowlers!

Ahhhhhh was it you I met at Cannock with CWNT? I always did wonder

Yeah Cannock wasn't the best place ever, was ok though!

Eveyone has smart phones these days... we could do a virtual Skype ride  haha.
  • Haha yeah, it were me drivin the car we were in. Didn't we meet in the car park as you were about 10 mins ahead of us?

Virtual Skype ride you say? This could be a fantastic idea worth looking into....

I can't remember why, but me and Ben rode round together, and you two were either just ahead or just behind us. We waited around for about an hour before we set off without you, so I assume you were behind us.

How about Llandegla? I'm not going to Cwm Carn again and the other S Wales places are a bit further than I'd want to do in one day, if I can avoid it. So North Wales seems sensible, especially as most people seem to be coming from oop North. Less navigational hassle than a natural ride too.
