or this,

  • what about http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=75067. I have 2 Kona's before and they are fantastic. Very solid and will tackle anything. :)

  • Going for a Kona but can`t decide between these two, do I go for the older better spec bike or the newer one with what the salesman said has fantastic wheels valued at £800 alone,

The newer bike goes down near enough one level on every component (nominally at least, in reality the usual Shimano cascade means it's probably near enough the same part), the wheels on that newer bike do indeed have an RRP of circa £750 (availabl for about £650), but then the Crossmax XT's will set you back about £580 and are hardly budget wheels.

The older bike has the aluminium/scandium alloy frame and is better, for that reason and the fact it has the RP23, if I was given a choice of taking one of those two, it would get my vote.

  • Thanks, I was thinking along the same lines myself but the salesman was going down the " it's going to be a three year old bike now and the new one has better wheels". I am off the opinion that you buy a bike based on the frame first.
